And, although I think you only wanted a yes or now, in case I was wrong....
I did a quick test. Either select the cell (or the text of interest) and click on the A in the toolbar with a colored line under it. You can change the color with the drop down on that icon as well.
Alternatively, select the text of interest, right click on it, choose character. Select the properties tab, there is a color area.
Set the background color very differently, but for certain you did not ask about that.
