Malfunction

David Brazier
Hello

I have an error message in a box on screen that says

"The last time you opened OpenOffice.org, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?"

Below the message there are two buttons. Neither button produces any result or change. The box remains in the middle of the screen.

At the same time, I notice that the cut and paste function has also stopped working.

This all happened when I restarted my computer.

Re: Malfunction

zahra a
hello.
this error says that when you opened openoffice in the last time, it
crashed or terminated the process.
this maybe become happen when your elictricity has problem.
your computer turned of unexpectedly and any failure maybe occured
because of immediate and unusual loss of power for your pc etc.
you can repair openoffice and see the result.
if it gives error again, you can completely uninstall and reinstall it again.
hope that help, God bless you!

David;

The most likely cause of this is that there was a power surge that
interrupted the save process or you that you closed the lid on a laptop
before the save process was complete thus leaving the software in an
unknown state. Please try the following:

Option-click the Go menu
Choose Library from the menu to open the folder in the Finder.
Click on the folder Saved Application State
Delete the file org.OpenOffice.script.savedState

Please also tell us what version of AOO you are using. This sounds
suspiciously like a known problem in the 3.4.x and early 4.0.x versions
that was finally fixed in AOO 4.1.0.

Keith

OK, I’ve upgraded the program and I think the problem has gone. Thanks.

Glad it helped. I would suggest that you subscribe to the Announce
mailing list by sending a blank e-mail to:
mailto:[hidden email] and replying to the
reply you will receive. This is a very low traffic list that will give
you notifications of new releases of the program. It is usually a good
idea to update as there are bug fixes and possibly security fixes to the
code.
