OpenOffice extensions: It is impossible to upload a new extension release

Karl Zeiler
@ Admins of the OpenOffice extensions

My extension project:
https://extensions.openoffice.org/project/dict-de-OLDSPELL

I tried to add a new release. Release size is *11,262 KB*.
Trying to upload the OXT file the following error message of the firefox
appears:

"Gesicherte Verbindung fehlgeschlagen

Cause of this problem seems to be:
the max client body size limit on the server (10 MB? - in this case the
size limit should be raised)
or an obsolete security certificate (?).

Please help to solve this problem as soon as possible.

Regards
Karl Zeiler

The message Sounds like an invalid Security Certificate.

Free translation:
Secured connection failed. The webpage can not be shown because of failed
authenticity of the sended data.
Please contact the owner.

This is infra topic isn't it?
All the best

I just asked infra. The Certificate is managed by Sourceforge and not by
infra. So you have to contact Sourceforge. But they are on the list. So
they should read it.

thanks for your answer.

When I tried (a few days before) to upload the new extension release (>
11 MB) to LO extension center, there was the same above mentioned error
message. The security certificate was OK, but the max client body size
on the server for uploading a new release was limited to 10 MiB. After
raising the limit to 16 MiB the problem was solved.

You see the above mentioned error message is not realy clear. Who
manages the max client body size for uploading? Infra or Sourceforge?

It's all managed by sourceforge. Expect for the Domain Name. Infra just
point to sourceforges server.

Hello Karl,

The site is managed by SourceForge and indeed they recently made some
changes (incl. certificates)

But have you tried:

https://extensions.openoffice.org/de/project/german-de-de-1901-old-spelling-dictionaries

or is that basically the same page you wanted to upload?

Regards, Matthias

Re: OpenOffice extensions: It is impossible to upload a new extension release

Karl Zeiler
Hello Matthias,

after Login I open the extension project site:
https://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/german-de-de-1901-old-spelling-dictionaries

After click to the menue item "Add a release" the site "German
(de-DE-1901) old spelling dictionaries" appears with the following URL:
https://extensions.openoffice.org/en/node/1057/add-release
I click to "Upload and parse an OXT file"

After short time, the above mentioned error message appears.

Regards
Karl

Re: OpenOffice extensions: It is impossible to upload a new extension release

Matthias Seidel
Hello Karl,

I suspect a limitation in size, because Marco A. G. Pinto just updated
his English dictionary, which is about 6MB:

https://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/english-dictionaries-apache-openoffice

We have to wait for SourceForge to look into it...

Regards, Matthias

BTW: Do you plan to update the German dictionary (de-DE, de-AT, de-CH)
in the near future?

Dave Brondsema
Hello,

We at SourceForge have increased the limits to be 32MB.  It should work now.

Thanks,

I suspect a limitation in size too (compare my earlier mail). Meanwhile
the limit on LO extension center has been raised from 10 to 16 MB.
