Hi Alexandro and Zoran,

we are working on a solution. Since OOoDeV (OpenOffice.org Germany
e.V.) migrate to LibreOffice the service isn't hosted anymore. We
heard from it some weeks ago.

Until the service is live, please send an issue to [hidden email]
when you want to release a product.

We tried and try to bring the service up to live before the release.
But it take longer as expected.

Thorsten

Hi,

yes, QATrack is currently down. I don't if we can bring it online again
in time for the 3.3 release.

If not, we can do the release via issues only. Open a new one to let us
know which files you have tested + approved and would like to see with
release status. Assign the issue directly to "issues@qa".

See the following issue as example for the description text:
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=112037

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards

Marcus

instead please assign to "issues@qa" so that others have the chance to
see them and to take over, just in case. ;-)

Hi Marcus,

thanks for the clarification of the process.

Could you write it also to the L10N list. They have to need that
information too.

Thanks,

Thorsten - I'd be happy if you would be more precise with your messages.

OOoDeV did not "migrate" to LibreOffice - we support LibreOffice, yes.
But this does not mean that we droppet support for the OOo services we
are hosting.

QATrack is still running at our server:
   http://qatrack.ooodev.org/

There might be some problems with the services.ooo alias, as we switched
some of our servers.

I think, It's merely a matter of (missing) communication.

André

Sorry, when I displeased you. I wrote the message with the information
I had and with the view of an external observer for LibreOffice and
for OOoDeV. If my information is wrong, then please excuse me.

The information I got was that the service will be dropped sometime.
Because of the service wasn't active since the switch of the servers
I got the feeling, that the service is stopped.

Good to know.

Yes!

What is the situation now? Will OOoDeV still support OOo - especially
with the service of QATrack? Or should we have to take over the service?

Thanks, and good to know QATrack is still alive! I was able to add the
Italian RC10 builds (note to other teams: you have to deselect "Check
that the file actually exists" or adding builds won't work) and we'll be
tracking Italian tests there, besides the usual requests in Issue
Tracker.

OK, I hope to see http://qatrack.services.openoffice.org/ back soon
then!

I was told, that Joost, Stefan and Marcus had been notified about
the new IP adresses about a month ago already.
So from what I see only DNS needs to be reconfigured.

>

OOoDeV did not stop hosting tools that are used by the OOo (or whatever)
community. I am not aware that this is going to happen.

The only problem (but this is not new) might be, that we are just hosting
qatrack - development has been done by Per Erikkson and some people
had access to the the server to configure and maintain the installation.

I don't know, if this access has been granted again - if not, please
ping me and Florian.

If you think, it's less complicated to host the service at Oracle,
I see no problem with that - but as long, as the new service is
not running, qatrack at ooodev is still available.

André

Thanks for the clarification. I did not get the information about the
IP, I've got the only information, that the server will change. So
there is a miscommunication anywhere. :-(

As Marcus wrote, now we want to take over the service. But it's good
to know, that the service is still alive and can be used for the
OOo 3.3 release until we have the service live.

So that means, you are working on a transition although the service
is still provided by OOoDeV, do not switch DNS back to the working
server but let it point to the not-running installation?

I think, it does not make much sense for OOoDeV to provide the service
any further (as it is not usable to the OOo community anyway).

Do you still need the instance for mirgration (e.g. get a data dump
or something)? If yes, we can keep the service running, if not - I'd
say, we can shut it down sooner or later.

André

I humbly suggest that the possible QATrack migration can wait until
February, there's plenty of time QATrack is not used between releases
and this is really the worst moment to migrate it. So, since Andre'
already stated that QATrack can remain available if needed, I'd rather
stay with the one hosted at http://qatrack.ooodev.org/ (and if possible
redirect http://qatrack.services.openoffice.org/ to it) until tests on
OOo 3.3 are finished.

> Do you still need the instance for mirgration (e.g. get a data dump

Provided that eventually it has to be moved (and this is not something I
can comment on) I would like not lo lose the historical data in QATrack,
so in that case I'd like that the new installation imports an up-to-date
dump of the existing one, at least for the records.

As I wrote in another mail. I did not know, that the service is
still running. And I am responsible to have a service like QATrack for
the next release. So we are working on a transition.

If you can write me the IP than we can bring the service back to the
known service. Until this I would like to use use the address
http://qatrack.ooodev.org/. Or isn't it possible for OOo?

As Andrea and I wrote, until we do not have the transition/migration
we want to use the service of OOoDeV, if possible.

There is no problem to keep it at the OOoDeV server. It's running and in
general backup /
maintenance. So migration can wait. Doing a database dump at any given
time should be no
problem, just ping me and / or Florian directly (some days in advance).
We are currently not
reading the lists very closely.

The current situation was imho very unfortunate, because nobody even
told that there was
a migration ongoing.

You may just use the same IP as for qatrack.ooodev.org which is
88.198.53.251

You may also use the qatrack.ooodev.org dircetly, but I'd guess the
qatrack.services.ooo alias is documented at several places.

I wrote it earlier, but I wasn't clear enough, sorry; there is a
mechanism in QATrack to skip this step, and it is to uncheck the "Check
that the build actually exists on the server" checkbox when you input
the URL. Apparently some configuration is not allowing the check to work
properly.
