The "canonical" integer type in UNO is long, not short (IMO short is
plain unnecessary in UNO).

So using short is
[ ] deprecated
[ ] forbidden
[ ] a matter of taste
[ ] harmful 'cause
    ________________________________________________________________

(Personally, I'd put the cross only at the third item :)
