strange, it wasn't existing for the "Installation" product but for
others. I've now added it. Please test if it works for you.

Obviously nobody looks at the splash screen, since the wrong URL has
been there for about 4 years now... ;-)
(When the splash screen was redesigned, the same URL was put in it again)
So I think now it is time for a change and to close this bug.

The ASF logos are also visible during installation on Windows (I can't
verify for macOS, but those graphics have also been updated).
I (and hopefully others) tested the Windows build for several month now.
In fact I am using 4.1.4 on a daily base at work.
For testing the Intro/About I simply copied the new graphics over the
existing ones in OpenOffice/program folder.

So from my POV the risk is minimal to non-existent.

I have to agree with Marcus on this one. Our Version Number Assignment
as defined at
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/Releases is
<major>.<minor>.<micro>. A <micro>release is defined as "only selected
bug fixes and most often only critical ones. This
includes any potential security issues."

To me updating a couple of graphics that most users are not going to
notice anyway does not rise to the threshold of a critical issue. Does
it need to be done; absolutely. However given the fragility of our build
system adding another potential failure point to a release that has
already taken far longer then predicted is a risk that does not need to
be taken.

Keith

OK, let's keep this update small and simple.

I can "patch" those 2 graphics easily myself... ;-)

Just out of curiosity, I built the 4.1.4 branch locally with the updated
graphics for Windows.
First step was en-US and de. Later I will add pt and jp.

As expected there were no building problems, installation went fine and
functionality is normal.

Status: 4.1.4

Jim Jagielski
I am going thru the proposed blockers in anticipation of a AOO 4.1.4
release. I have not approved the 2 graphics-related mods, simply
because even though they look like they might be easy, I don't
want to subject ourselves to the risk, even as small as it might
be. Plus, good PR for 4.2.0.

I'm fine with this. From the release criteria point of view it's not
really a blocker.

Does this also mean, that you take over the Release Nanager?

Re: Status: 4.1.4

Jim Jagielski
I've been operating under the assumption that I *am* the
release manager :)

As such, I think we should shoot for a release next week at the
latest. Last I checked, there were no remaining blockers for
4.1.4. As such, HEAD of http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/openoffice/branches/AOO414/
represents what will turn into the likely release.

I'll be doing macOS/OSX build and can also do the CentOS 5 32/64 bit
ones as well (rpm and deb), if required.

Comments? Feedback?

Hi All

I have still a fight with the Windows SDK. For some reasons, PSDK is not
recognized.

Re: Status: 4.1.4

Hi Raphael,

I did manage to build 4.1.4 (en-US, de, ja, pt) on Windows 7, although I
am not sure if I use the correct configure.
(Andrea did post a link some time ago, but I am not able to it...)

What is PSDK referring to?

Matthias

P.S.: I followed this guide:
https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Building_Guide_AOO/Step_by_step#Windows_7.2C_Windows_8.1.2C_Windows_10

I think, I massed up the installation of the SDK's

Can you post the configuration of your builds?

Re: Status: 4.1.4

Hi Raphael,

SDK_PATH="/cygdrive/c/Microsoft_SDKs/Windows/v7.0"
./configure \
    --with-frame-home="$SDK_PATH" \
    --with-psdk-home="$SDK_PATH" \
    --with-midl-path="$SDK_PATH/bin" \
    --with-ant-home="/cygdrive/c/apache-ant-1.9.9" \
    --with-jdk-home="C:/PROGRA~1/Java/JDK17~1.0_8" \
    --with-csc-path="C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v3.5" \
    --with-cl-home="C:/PROGRA~1/MICROS~1.0/VC" \
    --with-asm-home="C:/PROGRA~1/MICROS~1.0/VC/bin" \

--with-dmake-url="https://sourceforge.net/projects/oooextras.mirror/files/dmake-4.12.tar.bz2"
\

--with-epm-url="https://sourceforge.net/projects/oooextras.mirror/files/epm-3.7.tar.gz"
\
    --with-directx-home="C:/Microsoft_DirectX_SDK_June_2010" \
    --disable-nss-module \
    --without-junit \
    --disable-pch \
    --disable-atl \
    --disable-activex \
    --enable-category-b \
    --with-lang="en-US de pt ja" \
    --enable-bundled-dictionaries \
    --with-nsis-path="C:/NSIS"

I followed the steps in our Wiki and avoided spaces in the path. The
shortened Windows paths may also differ for your system.

As I said before, these are most likely not the official build options,
but they work (for me).

Regards, Matthias

yes, you are. There was no vote or other formal process. Just a proposal
and nobody objected. So, sometimes it comes fast and easy. :-)

Release options are here:

http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/openoffice/devtools/build-scripts/

The ones from 4.1.2 are correct, the ones from 4.1.3 are not (so please
base on the 4.1.2 ones).
