Thank you Peter and welcome!

You can find the Swedish version to test at
http://people.apache.org/~jsc/developer-snapshots/r1429825/
(Windows/Mac) or
http://people.apache.org/~arielch/developer-snapshots/r1429825/
(Linux).

The Swedish version has "sv" in the file name.

If you need assistance with installation or you find translation errors,
please e-mail this mailing list again.

You might want to subscribe to this list if you want to keep up-to-date
with the OpenOffice translation activities. See
http://openoffice.apache.org/mailing-lists.html#localization-mailing-list-public

Regards,

I'm having a "not again" moment here  >.<

Ok, I grabbed the gd file and installed.

First issue: if I select Custom during install, the language under
"Additional Language Packs" is given as "STR_NAME_MODULE_LANGPACK_GD
(including on the right in "Feature Description"). This should be
"Gaelic (Scotland)" or "Scottish Gaelic".

Once it installed, I hit the language settings to switch to Gaelic. I
can select it as the UI language but it is not in the Locale Settings
and Default Languages list. Again. I thought we'd addressed this bug in
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=117857 ?

The second one is a serious issue for any locale because it prevents any
proofing tool from working properly :(

In fact, this is missing in main/scp2/source/ooo/module_langpack.ulf
Can you please open a bug? Look at the other strings in
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/openoffice/trunk/main/scp2/source/ooo/module_langpack.ulf?revision=1413471&view=markup
and suggest a new one. There are some that use only the language, others
that use a longer string like "Installs <locale> support in %PRODUCTNAME
%PRODUCTVERSION".

as stated in https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=117857#c13
the bug is fixed on trunk, the fix was never applied on the AOO34
branch. The problem is that this release is only a respin, only
translations where modified, no other bug fixes have been integrated; so
it's up to the release manager if the fix is merged or not. (that said,
IMHO it doesn't make much sense to release the language without the fix
included).

I agree: fixes that are only functional to release the Gaelic version
should definitely be backported to the AOO34 code line, otherwise there
is no point in releasing it. Same for bugs that need to be fixed for any
of the 8 new languages to work correctly.

A closer reveals that there are two missing string resources:

STR_NAME_MODULE_LANGPACK_GD
STR_DESC_MODULE_LANGPACK_GD

see scp2/source/templates/module_langpack.sct

Re: Re: Test swedish version

Michael Bauer
I'm a bit lost in those directories and can't locate them - or I'm
incapable of identifying what I should be looking at, but if someone can
tell me what they are, I can open a bug and provide translations.
