specifying JVM args for regcomp for http://bugs.debian.org/502422

also reply to dev@porting ]

Hi,

I am trying to solve http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=502422.

Matthias Klose suggested to use -Xms= to OpenJDK, but this is testtools and
regcomp, no direct JVM call.

How do I give -Xms to regcomp here?
Does anyone have an other idea?

Regards,

Rene

regcomp uses the jvmfwkrc in the lib folder. There you could enter:
UNO_JAVA_JFW_PARAMETER_1=-Xms....

See also
jvmfwk/inc/jvmfwk/framework.h

If you look at jvmfwk/inc/jvmfwk/framework.h there are some suggestions,
as a temporary hack maybe you could see if

export UNO_JAVA_JFW_PARAMETER_1=-Xms

does anything for you.

The trick was -Xss64m here, not -Xms, but now I get the following:

regcomp -register  -br ../../unxlnga.pro/misc/bridgetest/bootstrap.rdb -r ../../unxlnga.pro/lib/uno_services.rdb -c \
        file:///home/rene/openoffice.org-3.0.0/ooo-build/build/OOO300_m9/testtools/source/bridgetest/../../unxlnga.pro/class/testComponent.jar \
        -env:URE_INTERNAL_JAVA_DIR=file:///home/rene/openoffice.org-3.0.0/ooo-build/build/OOO300_m9/solver/300/unxlnga.pro/bin
using loader com.sun.star.loader.Java2
file:///home/rene/openoffice.org-3.0.0/ooo-build/build/OOO300_m9/testtools/source/bridgetest/../../unxlnga.pro/class/testComponent.jar
register component 'file:///home/rene/openoffice.org-3.0.0/ooo-build/build/OOO300_m9/testtools/source/bridgetest/../../unxlnga.pro/class/testComponent.jar' in registry '../../unxlnga.pro/lib/uno_services.rdb' failed!
error (CannotRegisterImplementationException):
dmake:  Error code 1, while making '../../unxlnga.pro/lib/uno_services.rdb'
dmake:  '../../unxlnga.pro/lib/uno_services.rdb' removed.
